I promise - just one more UWFW-related post, and we'll get back to our regular scheduled programming.
(Which I acknowledge is not regular at all considering this blog is a whole week and a half old, but I digress..)
In truth, I've a hankering to get back to what I do best - street-walking and accosting random people (not weird at all). But I just couldn't go on without mentioning last week's fashion blogger panel.
The panel |
The major theme of the whole thing was that if you write a blog - whether that be runway related or Star Wars centered - you're suppose to "be yourself".
I get that. It makes sense that people don't want to read about some hyper-cool impersonation of a human being, because it's nice to have something to relate to (not that you're not hyper-cool .. because you are).

That being said, people also probably don't want to read about how you went to the grocery store twice today, because even if you went the first time to just get eggs, you somehow left with everything but.
There's probably a balance to be struck somewhere in the middle, but for now, I think I'll just focus on taking pictures of the people who make me do a double-take. Hopefully, in the choices that I make, a little ray of Gabby sunshine comes blazing incandescently through.
hopefully said incandescent ray radiates slightly less creeper vibes than this photo...apologies |
Oh, and a love for fashion and a love for Star Wars are not mutually exclusive.
Or for Lord of the Rings.
But more on that later. (...duh duh duh).
