Look Sharp, Sconnie - Midwestern Fashion Nerd, Chronic Over-thinker

How to make your arms jealous.

I tweeted this photo a few days ago with the caption,
"New fashion criteria: Would my mother have worn them while pregnant?
Check!"
And it's true. She would have.
In fact, my leggings a few days ago were directly inspired by a pair I vividly remember latching onto as a wee tot.

Leggings are the best. And while I realize that they're not exactly prime attractants of the masculine audience, they certainly make up for it with their extraordinary comfort, ease, and believe it or not - variety.
Source: Polyvore. From left to right: Neon Hart Matt Wetlook Leggings, Red Multi Colour Animal Baroque Chain Print Leggings, Ribbon Tropical Leggings, J Brand Denim Leapard Print Mid Rise Legging, Helmut Lang Structure Grey Lamb Skin Leggings, Alexander McQueen Brown and Black Animal Print Leggings, Sly 010 Fit Tight Brown Leather Leggings, Sly 010 Second Skin Grey Velour Leather Leggings, RESHO Leggings, Pucker Up Leggings, BCBG Slater Paneled Denim Legging

So you can see why I'm a little disheartened to see so many girls reverting to the plainest of plain leg accoutrements, when there are literally a painful number from which to choose.
(my heart actually broke into shards while picking out those babies above)

Yes, I too own the requisite pair or two (or five) of the black & unadorned sort - but I've become embarrassingly attached to the - corduroy textured (here & here), riding-themed (similar), zipper-embellished, grey, green, and now blue - leggings that grace my glutes on an embarrassingly recurrent occasion.
In no way do I advocate that you become a chronic dress-code offender like myself ("all things in moderation", or so the obnoxiously self-controlled say), but a textured or patterned legging from time to time makes wearing a white tee that much cooler.
This is me. I am wearing: sunglasses: vintage Laura Biagiotti, shirt: Pitaya, leggings: Hue, boots: Franco Sarto,
And if you're distraught by the thought of your exposed derière (or lack thereof) simply do as yours truly and wear a shirt with a built-in tush apron.

What do you think? Leggings: stylish or not? Would love to know.

Cheers.
