I really wanted to jump on the cut-off hot pants trend.
I really wanted to. But every time I tried a pair on, I immediately felt more exposed than any self respecting hobbit-lover ever should.
So, I took matters into my own hands.
With a little bleach, and a lot of childhood peechlorine-filled pool flashbacks, I created my own pair.
The perfect high-waist-to-much-too-long-length ratio is hard to come by. So, though the purpose of the hot pants' "unflattering" high waist may be to balance the alluringly inappropriate length, I'd like to think that my charming smile makes up for this version's shortage of exposed leg.
Then, with obvious inspiration from The Man Repeller(&here) I defeated the entire purpose of the "short" altogether and donned my new favorite wear-it-over-everything-to-the-point-of-repulsion sleeveless trench from Torn by Ronny Kobo.
Me. Wearing: shorts: vintage Levi's (similar), trench: Torn by Ronny Kobo (original sold out, but similar here[super sale!!] & here), boots: Good Style Shop |
Ta-da! Outfit Gabby-ized.
Rolls right off the tongue, doesn't it?
Anybody else feel uncomfortable in short shorts?
Cheers.
Love those shorts, what a perfect idea. I hate short shorts... when they are too tight that is. I would totally buy these!

Awesome outfit! I agree, most shorts seem to be wayyy to short to feel comfortable in. I've made a few pairs of my own too - though I haven't tried the bleaching yet, will have to give that a go! :)
