I admit, "Art Deco" isn't typically an alluring term for me when it comes to jewelry.

In fact, a version Mrs. Fine's, gaudy sequined and shelled necklace always comes to mind.
Don't get me wrong - I love a good obnoxious neck piece - but I prefer to source my materials from outside of the 5th grade art room.
Parisian art deco, however, seems to be (like all other things Parisian) better than it's American counterpart
(so sue me, I'm a Paris groupie).
At least, that seems to be the case with this particular dealer that I found at Bastille's Marché de la Création.
The little art market is open every Saturday, and it's situated just close enough to my apartment to pose a dangerous hazard to my rapidly-depleting (read: non-existant) funds.

What do you think? Would you guys do the deco?
Do tell.
Cheers.
Sorry to say but I've long been on team deco. My strongest alliance, however, will always be to team Victorian, when it comes to jewelry at least. Deco furniture, on the other hand, kicks victorian's ass!
ReplyDeleteLove your skirt and sneaks, and I'm surprised you have any money left. I'd be broke in an hour in Paris. Congratulations on your maturity and general common sense - I'm still working hard on these ;)
I am loving that ring... would definitely have gone the deco! Also your outfit is just too cute
