When you go to put on clothes in the morning,
what are you thinking?
Or are you even thinking?
Sometimes, I feel like my fashion choices are entirely visceral - like I can literally feel what's going to jive with my mood that day,
and for that matter,
what's not.
what are you thinking?

Sometimes, I feel like my fashion choices are entirely visceral - like I can literally feel what's going to jive with my mood that day,
and for that matter,
what's not.
The things that I might decide to put on one day often seem to me unfathomable the next -
- even if I'm the same person with the same moody demeanor and the same pie-in-the-sky ambitions as the day before.
- even if I'm the same person with the same moody demeanor and the same pie-in-the-sky ambitions as the day before.
It's really made me wonder what people did before the invention of fast fashion? Before changing it up every day was a legitimate option, and the only garb women had at their disposal was one of three custom gowns gifted to them by their loving mister-esses (I wikipediaed it - there's "no specific word in English for a "male mistress" ... shameful).

Did they numb themselves to the fact that they weren't dressed just as they'd like to be?
Or did they maybe just lower their standards and allow for, say, a different color ribbon to satisfy their need for self expression?

And if they are,
then what are the metaphorical pants!?
Let's invent something.
Cheers.
Whoa I think about this all the time actually, when I walk into my closet I'm so overwhelmed about trying to stay true to myself while incorporating trends and such....i wonder if they ever thought about changing things up or if they were content just wearing what they had.....we need a time machine hahahah!

Hahaha! You just blew my mind!! So true, and point well made. Man o man, I totally think about the limited options they had back in the day. I can't even imagine - Relying on the tiniest of details to express their individuality and daily mood shifts. Those freedoms were simply not at their disposal the way they are today. CRAY CRAY!
