NYC's Fashion's Night Out was...
crowded.
And when I say "crowded", I don't mean the 6pm-at-the-grocery-store kind of crowded.
This was more along the lines of the awkward-feel-up-random-strangers-mosh-pit-reminiscent-I-definitely-just-picked-someone-else's-wedgie kind of crowded that I obviously adore.
False.
I do not adore it. At all.
Which is why I lasted all of about one hour amidst the hustle and bustle and surprisingly poorly dressed street life of the "epic" one night affair.
It's a shame, too, because if there's one night that fosters the phenomenon of fashion-insider name dropping, it's this one. Every store and it's mother invites bloggers, socialites and celebrities (like Kim K!) to pose, chat up guests, and lend their overall vibe of important-person-cool to the store for an hour or so of "champagne and conversation".
I would have rather played DDR, but
... yeah. That didn't happen.
So all in all, nothing much went down.
Oh. Except all of my wildest dreams came true.
Yeah.
It happened.
Cheers.
Congratulations on meeting MR!! And I am all with you on the FNO crowd sitch - I was lucky that the one time I went I got to stand behind the velvet ropes at Elizabeth and James. As soon as that was over, I didn't even bother trying to make it to the back of the store to buy the sweater I wanted - wasn't worth it (although now I do sort of regret it). All the lines outside every store kept me from even considering going in. And I took one look at the Opening Ceremony Bazaar in my hotel and headed straight up the elevator to order room service. FNO is great but perhaps best enjoyed behind the screen of a computer for us mere mortals ;) xx

ReplyDeleteHey Jessica!
DeleteAbout 1.5 yrs ago I got red&blonde highlights . . . so those may show through at the ends. Otherwise, I've been pretty lazy about upkeep - so it's au naturel, haha
Thanks for reading!!
