I, like any other human female, go through phases.
|me, in Jessica Simpson boots|
One of these phases was tall boots.
I remember feeling as if I would drown under the number of knee-high boots that I "just couldn't live without".
Yet, even then - even amidst the crippling want that weakened my poor little knees - I was still wary of the epic over-the-knee-ers.

Something about them just seemed trashy.
Like they belonged in strip clubs or street corners or strange S&M Shades of Greys.
Then, on a whim, I fell for a pair by the most unlikely of suspects: Jessica Simpson. Truly. Whodathunkit that lil' (or not) Daisy Duke could have created a pair sleek enough to satisfy the sophisticate that is myself. (sarcasm).
One year later, and I'm still a fan. And yes - at moments I do feel as if they're too mainstream - that they should be relegated to wannabe college teens and overeager bleach-blonde clubbers.

But then I look in the mirror and remind myself that I'm weird.
And weirdness, my faithful friends, is the most perfect of haute-couture accessories.
I really want to know: Do you think that over-the-knee boots are kitschy faux-pas? Or do you think that there exist acceptable ways in which to style them? Coming up: I'll attempt - so any tips now would be highly-loved.
