Look Sharp, Sconnie - Midwestern Fashion Nerd, Chronic Over-thinker

An Unconventional Threesome.

Sometimes (read: always) it's a bit difficult to pinpoint my style "genre".
flannel: Target, blouse: American Apparel, pants: Urban Outfitters/BDG (similar), boots: thrifted, jacket: Burlington Coat Factory/DIY (PERFECT one)
That's one of the best parts about having a blog.
Instead of dressing to fit in with a group, an office setting, or an event dress code -
I'm dressing to fit in with my blog.

And because my blog is,
well,
mine - the only limits of my wardrobe are those of my aesthetic.

It's liberating, really, when instead of worrying about whether or not my look fits in with my destination, I'm concerned only about how it makes me feel.
It's also a bit scary.
Because when people dislike what I wear, or disapprove of its strangeness, I can't cop out and blame the situation.
Nope.
I'm fully accountable for the criticism brought on by my actions.

Which is why this outfit worked perfectly for the purposes of this post.
Perfectly.

That is, until I entered the real world, and quickly realized that my leather-look black pants, bright red flannel shirt, and tweed coat, didn't exactly mesh with the more upscale surroundings into which I was bound.
It's like Avril Lavigne meets Wisconsin dairy farmer meets British heritage style.

I'd say that sums up this blog up pretty nicely, no?

Do you embrace anything that others...don't?

Cheers.

PS: This post includes a jacket, because, well, it's like 1 degree out. (And because commenter, Stephanie, so nicely requested yesterday that I be practical.)
