I feel like my favorite styles to stalk aren't really the ones that are overtly outrageous,
but are instead the ones that take something classic and take it just
one
step
weirder.
As much as I like to huff and puff about why certain fashionable individuals make it big, while the rest of us continue to trudge on with our fashion-relegated-to-nights-and-weekends lives,
there is a certain,
je ne sais wha-wha
about the style of some alluring ladies (& gents on occasion, I'm sure).
It's that strange ability to take a classic fabric, silhouette, wardrobe staple - and add one little twist that proves their ability to think outside of the established frame of thought. Changing something traditionally considered "default" is what truly earns my attention (though I suppose that's no great feat, considering that I've watched this for a good 30 minutes without blinking).
And it usually doesn't take much.

In my futile attempt to channel this envious form of genius, I decided that I'd throw myself for a loop and leave this lovely blouse untucked.

It's a lucky thing I gave up on 'figure flattering' years ago.
What do you think?
Weird enough, or should I have taken it one step further?
Cheers.
PS: excuse the last photo. I probably had to pee.
PSS: I'm essentially translucent. deal with it

love it. it's such a subtle detail but it totally works
ReplyDeletelove that black and white outfit and how there's flared details on the top and bottom. i'm all about the untuck or half tuck and this is definitely a great example of how it can make a basic outfit more interesting and those shoes, LOVE them!

Such an amazing post! You are so right about how a small personal touch (or twist) can change a classic look!
