I know, I know.
Two days in a row of devotion posts to outfits I'll never own?
Don't worry. We'll get back to the faux-philosophical junk soon.

But for now...
yes,
yes,
you may say I'm a dreamer,
but ...
but ...

yeah. I'm a dreamer.
I'm also hopelessly convinced that any outfit post I do sans the following heel style will be absolutely worthless.
So this, friends, is my obsessive compulsive personality at its worst.
For example, my recently purchased pair of boy(ish) knee-length shorts would go perfectly with . . .

those.
But "those" are marooned in Australia and unable to be shipped to the land of the obviously not so free.
The following, however, are a bit more accessible.
And by "accessible", I of course mean
not accessible at all.
Unless, well, you have two month's rent at your disposal to drop on impractical footwear.

Not sure what it says about my priorities that notion of becoming a homeless shoe hoarder grows more and more appealing every single day.

Does this ever happen to you guys?? Does every outfit seem, at the risk (certainty) of sounding melodramatic, absolutely worthless unless you have that one "perfect" item to make it complete?
Why do you think that is? Is this solely a symptom of a one-track mind,
or is there something deeper at work?
Are we mini Picassos
just struggling to execute our noble artistic vision?

Or just shoe hoarders? Or copy cats?
Cheers.
i have pined over the zanottis and the alaias for months now. i don't think it's mellowdramatic at all to think that these are the shoes that will make every outfit better. i mean hello look at aimee song during spring fashion week. she rocked the shit out of those shoes and it upped the amazing quotient on her already amazing outfits just ever so slightly. get em, post em, and make us insanely jealous.

"Homeless shoe hoarder" real LOL !!
ReplyDeleteTo say these are gorgeous would be an understatement.I can imagine you feeling your outfits being worthless without them. Happens I suppose. Though it happens very less in my case. The last thing I wanted like crazy was a Jil Sander blouse. Way out of reach....
But I believe you would be able to find something which ships to your country and relatively cheap on other websites. If I ever come across I would surely drop you the link.. promise :)
And plus I love the way you write... it keeps on drawing me back to your blog!

Sometimes I get the idea that an outfit can't be PERFECT unless I have this one thing, but then I remind myself it's bullshit. I know once I have that one thing I will just want another. Wanting begets wanting, ya know? To resolve this issue I typically go in the opposite direction of my wanting, knowing trying to mimic the coveted item won't work. I probably do this three times a week. It makes for some pretty interesting looks.

Zara sort of has versions of these, but I want to orgasm all over lace-ups in general. You'd look fantastic in those, Adrienne!
