Look Sharp, Sconnie - Midwestern Fashion Nerd, Chronic Over-thinker

Why Do I Suddenly Like T-shirts?

Ok fine.
I've always liked t-shirts.
Even when I was a wee tot nerd child.
Oversized tees were mah jammm.

Espesh the kind brought back to me from vacations by those that I loved.
London, NY, "someone who loves me very much went to Canada and got me this t-shirt", etc, etc.

But blank tees? Tees without obnoxious logos & sayings?
N0 thank y0u.
Those were for boring snotty rich people willing to spend extra money on really unnecessary things just  so they would be able to say that it "it was so worth it" because it was "so comfortable" and they loved making "really practical & wearable purchases" that would "last them a lifetime".

But like, ew.

Then suddenly, I turned 23 and 3 months and all at once I'm crushin' on the basics too.
White tees, green tees, red tees, you no-name/no-print/no-brand it & I'm in.
And by "in", I mean willing to spend more than the typical $2.99 on my standard Forever 21 tee.

Paired with something equally as boring (i.e. jeans)?
Yes plz.

But why? Why are slightly pricier, higher quality, extra-drapey & luxuriously soft t-shirts suddenly worth the extra cash?

WHY AM I SUDDENLY BECOMING SO PRACTICAL??!?

Also, very gross.
tee: Velvet via iona, jeans: AG, shoes: Michael Antonio, necklaces: vintage, Anthropologie, & C.Alexandria, earrings: K/LLER via iona
I got this shirt on Saturday & I immediately changed into it, wore it all of Sunday, and donned it to work today.

Sans laver.

Sounds cleaner in french, non?

But fer realz. What is happening to me?

Cheers.

You look stunning, Gab! I've actually never, ever been a fan of obnoxious logo & saying tees - always thought they were a bit too... what's the word I'm looking for here... in-your-face? That's three words. But whatever. Could I have, at the mere age of 8, already known that plain, no-name, no-brand, boring ol' tees would someday be IN? Probably not. I simply preferred something more timeless {that didn't give away my juvenile status}, as opposed to trendy {although I probably did not know the correct terms for it.} XOXO

This look is gorgeous! I'm a huge fan of both graphic tees and plain tees as well. Really a good t-shirt can make or break an outfit.
