Camo is Confusing.

Camo. 

It is so confusing. 

One moment I'm throwing a fit about its stupidity, and the next I'm . . .

well, I'm wearing it. 

Proudly, in fact. And why? When only months ago I was rolling my eyes at passersby clad in the very same? 

Because it's easy. Which is, oddly enough, precisely why I once hated it.

Things that require no thought - things that do the work for you, things like overly-intricate dresses, pre-layered shirts, etc, etc, have notoriously seemed to me to be very stupid. Wearers of these items all seemed so lazy and unable to creatively combine pieces on their own. Like really? You couldn't add your own belt? You really had to buy it pre-attached? And really? Is that white dress shirt actually sewn into the layer on top. 

Side note: I'm a judgmental brat. 

Anyhow, up until recently, camo fell into the same boat. I thought that the print spoke for you, not with you - and that instead of allowing for your personality to shine through your clothing, it just sort of drowned it out. 

Then I experienced a paradigm shift regarding my compassion for camo as a result of no impetus in particular so this story isn't really actually all that interesting in the end and sort of just finishes off at an anti-climactic plateau. 

Soooo....

I like camo now. 

Not because it's easy in itself, but because it's easy to mix. It's an easy contrast to everything that I already own... 

and I think we all know how fashion bloggers feel about "juxtaposition". 

It's like - so good.
