Bloggers are cool.
Let me rephrase that: Cool bloggers are cool.
Bloggers are just humans, and the human race as whole is widely known to consist of a certain percentile of devastatingly nerdy people.
Don't get me wrong - I mean "nerdy" in the most positive of ways,
but nerdy it does remain.
Alas, I thought it would be fun to blatantly (and embarrassingly) address how a poor-ish "nerd" goes about replicating something that looks much cooler in theory (or in the fantasy world of Cupcakes & Cashmere or Atlantic-Pacific or whatever other la-la land blog you use to forget about the realities of camel toe & inappropriate cleavage or WHAT?justkiddingbutnotreally) by showing you a few comparison photos.
To begin, behold: Me.
I could analyze the imperfections in detail one-by-one, but where's the fun in that??!
Instead, I'll allow you to find your own miniature sartorial quirks, if you will - I'm just here to provide you with my three main attempts at coolness.
These Me vs. Them shots will make you feel better about getting dressed in the morning.
That's right, folks, clothes wrinkle, love handles show, and camel toe glows. That doesn't mean I don't love these styles on me just as much as I do on the pros..it's just, I love them...differently.
Like a brother vs. boyfriend kind of love.
except I have neither
so that comparison doesn't even mildly resonate.
The half-tucked shirt.

Please tell me, has this ever worked? For anyone??
I've tried it maybe,
10 million or so times, and it never ceases to not amaze me.
Always looks unintentional.
And yet I soldier on.
The high-waisted boyfriend/mom/farmer jean.

Never have, never will, do anything for the body.
Is it weird that that makes me love them more?
The sock showing between pant and bootie.

Because I'm sure when the trend was initiated they intended me to use a 1/2 inch thick men's wool sock from TJMaxx.
Adapt or die,
that's what I always (never) say.
Moral of the story: Be yourself and be happy about it.
