Oh, Rebecca Minkoff-
How do I recap thee?
First off, if you've ever heard Rebecca's story, you'll know she didn't have an easy go of it at first. She didn't encounter insta-success. She had to work.

You'll also know that a huge part of her success was tapping into social networks and influencers. Hence making the Rebecca Minkoff F/W '14 I covered as a Polyvore Community Correspondent one heckuva a people-watching spectacularreeee (#I'mastalker). All the people I love and all the people I love to hate converged for a very on-trend showing of oversized structured jackets, fur beanies, knee-high footwear and [[wait for it]] fanny packs!!!!!! (#isitironyanymore?)
It was like boarding school student meets fashion blogger meets my unironic mom.
All super wearable.
What really blows me away, though, is moreso the impact that the attendees had on the aesthetic of the clothes. Would I be so infatuated with, say, the spaceman-cum-centenial vibe of several of the closing outfits had they not been filtered through Anna Kendrick's inarguable halo of cool?
Am I strangely and obscenely obsessed with Anna Kendrick?
I don't know and yes. A thousand times yes.
Once again, though, as reflected yesterday: Less about the clothes, more about the complete package.
i've always admired rebecca minkoff's stuff. always so accessible. and wearable. like you could actually walk off the runway in one of these outfits. and i can totally see you in a number of those ensembles! how amazing to have had this opportunity to be at NYFW. and i love reading about it from your perspective. thanks for sharing!
