What Would Fashion Be Without Seasons?

STOPPIT.
Stop talking about the weather.
Just stoppit.

At this point, I'm assuming we're all collectively ignoring the fact that it's 30 degrees out and SNOWING (snowing!) and wearing whatever the heck we want. So it's useless addressing the fact that it snowed (snowed!) mid-April and we're all extremely miserable.

Right?
Or is it literally the only thing to which we have to tie our fashion decisions nowadays?
It seems like everyone's either "dressing for Spring" or "dressing in spite of the lack of Spring" - a never-ending goose chase that will likely result in disappointment (and inevitable unnecessary spending).

So what exactly is my beef? I mean, we are all servants of the elements, after all- But so much so that 90% of what we deem relevant about fashion must be tied to the current temperature?
Why is every caption, comment or editorial remark I make about an outfit related to either the dismal weather situation or one more seasonal "trend"? Am I that pressed for relevant commentary that I'm forced to rely solely on circumstances I can't control?

Wouldn't it be more fun to make my own sources of relevancy via random thoughts about what I wear, rather than rebound off of extraneous circumstances?

And really, how many more "10 Must-Have Spring Trends" or "Dressed For Spring in Winter" articles can we really take before our eyes gloss over and we start reverting to wearing blankets out of sheer annoyance at the continual banality of style-suggestions?
It makes me wonder about the fashion industry. What would we all talk about if we lived in a seasonless bubble?

If the year wasn't made up of routine, monthly, transitions - how would we approach fashion?
Would it be based on aging? Or relationships? Or hormonal mood swings?
#cantstopwontstop
What would designers show at fashion weeks? No A/W or S/S collections. No resort. No pre-fall or pre-spring.

Maybe we've been missing out on a whole new angle of fashion? Maybe we've allowed blizzards and tropical locations and changing leaf colors to blur another side of an overworked industry?

What could fashion be without seasons?

Cheers

Life without seasons, unimaginable. Nice way of addressing fashion.

first, i love that outfit girl. screw the snow. i remember our last year in madison before we moved over to hong kong, it snowed in the first week of may. gotta love wisconsin.....

second, weather and fashion. the two really go hand in hand. i'm embarrassed to say how many times i've addressed the weather, or complained about the weather in my fashion posts....you raise an interesting question....what would fashion be without seasons???

excited for summer....we'll be in madison in june!
