Swimsuit Adventures with Lands' End & Glamour

Swimsuits.

Not my favorite.
stylist & author, Kendall & not stylist or author, I
Winter weight and polar vortex paleness are hardly engendering of enthusiasm for the exposure of  any skin.
Especially that on the derriere portion of my nether regions.

That being said,
the folks at Lands' End made it a wee bit easier to not hate myself in a swimsuit.

For them, it's all about the fit.
And apparently, most of us have been doing it wrong.

Turns out- swimsuits aren't "supposed" to ride up my butt or cut off the circulation in my shoulders. What were once assumptions about the nature of swimwear are now proof of the fact that I am, in fact, meant to be wearing a "long" when it comes to swimsuit sizing.
Whoddathunk?
after my fitting!  a little awkward, #ishouldhaveavoidedjellybeansthiswinter,
but wholly worth it.
Also a fun fact:
I like floral prints now.
Specifically, "hyper floral", a new term I learned for, well,
this:
Strangely appealing to my perpetually earth-toned self.

And I'm 100% sure I'm going to jump on the surf shirt trend too.
After my productive fitting, I chatted with Glamour stylist, Kendall Farr, about the trends evident in the swimsuit collections. No surprise that swimsuits fall in line with the fashion world in terms of trend adherence (sport luxe, boho, etc)

Then we talked about Birkenstocks.
and New York.
and how to tie a pareo.

This is a pareo:
News to me.

I'm also now a huge fan of tummy tucking technology,
and butt enhancement,
and boob supportage.
And you know what else?
Of feeling confident that any woman of any shape and any age can find a swimsuit in Lands' End's collection. Which is insane. Because as someone who knows that swimsuit shopping is literally traumatic, I would be the first to criticize the exclusivity that is the swimsuit industry (Triangl Swimwear, anyone? #killme)

The only swimsuit I've ever enjoyed wearing is from Lands' End,
look familiar?

And I think I found one for this season too.
Rest assured that it has an obnoxiously deep V and grecian goddess influences.

Standard.

Cheers.

You look GORGEOUS! UGH, swimsuit shopping is literally the death of me. I was even considering backing out of my fitting at the event I was so freaked out. Now that I'm not 16 anymore, I've been trying to find a swimsuit that provides coverage while still looking young and flirty and not remind me of the "mom jeans" song. I thought it was as mythical creature until I actually found multiple Land's End suits I loved! Sad to have missed ya at the event but we will have to meet soon!

You look so bomb in that swimsuit! Loving the hyper floral colors on you! I really want one for myself now!
