I have a weird relationship with trends.
Weird in that I follow them.
Which isn't weird, per se.
More so totally normal.
Except that it's me. And with "normal" not being in my typical behavioral repertoire, something's gotta give.
So what gives??
Well, I'm certain it stems from the fact that I love being in control. I love having the power to manipulate things to suit my liking.
So, whereas some folks may pick and choose the trends that they like (and ignore those they don't), I tend to attempt them all. -- Especially those to which I'm particularly averse.
Because what's more rewarding than taking a trend under your wing, nurturing it, and then bending it's small malleable self to suit your liking??
Probably a lot of things. Including, but not limited to; donating to charity, building houses in a third world country, teaching English to orphans, not being so mean to your mom, etc, etc.
Alas, I am shallow.

So this artfully painted accessory trend? These obnoxious-but-blogger-beloved giant holes in the knees a là Topshop? Both trends! Both mine!
And, despite the fact that neither, in seclusion, perfectly suits my personality.
In conjunction, they've become something beautiful.
And by beautiful I mean awkward and strange and . . . very me.
Cheers.

I say, if you love it, rock it! Love how you own your look! ... and that giant tire. ;)
