Summer in da City: Impracticality vs. Heat Stroke

dat's right, y'all

It's that time to shine
for a high neckline.

Sure- your  subsequent tan lines may be ... unfortunate, to say the least. But it's a minor price to pay for absolute awesomeness on all other fronts.

A high necklace adds that necessary bit of balance,
because shorts are tricky.

One, because the scar from my hip surgery inevitably shows and results in an unavoidably awkward conversation about the fact that I broke my hip at age 22 and am actually even less cool than you already thought I was and
Two, because too much skin and not enough frumpiness results in a feeling I like to call "debilitating discomfort."
And as far as I'm concerned, if I'm not at least 70% asexual/masculine/homeless-esque,
I shoulda stayed home. Because who likes looking at together/pretty/attractive people anyways? (#alloftheboyfriendIneverhad)
Or for that matter, starting two juxtaposing sentences with prepositions?

Anyhoot-
What I love about being in NYC is the fact that my non-summer summer dressing is like, ACES here.
Whereas in WI, every five minutes I'd get a confused "but aren't you so hot!?!",
here it's automatically assumed that the need to feel good overrides the need to not about to die from heat stroke.

A land where people throw practicality out the window in favor of aesthetics?

Though I won't lie,
pumps on the subway escalator are a legit safety hazard.

Good thing the escalators are almost always broken. #glasshalffull

Cheers.
