You know those random ideas that you sometimes have?
Like:
What if I decided I only wanted to eat toast?
Or that I wanted to start an entire business all about starting a business?
Or to put my hundreds-of-thousands-of-dollars education on the back burner to pursue my wholly unlucrative side hustle?
I know you know those thoughts.
Those random little ideas.
Those notions that seem to hardly ever manifest, because they're discounted almost as soon as they are born — disappearing without ever really existing.
Those random little ideas.
Those notions that seem to hardly ever manifest, because they're discounted almost as soon as they are born — disappearing without ever really existing.
Well, what if those stupid little nothings were actually your little bits of genius?
Crazy, not in their essence, but only in their lack of afforded energy.
Sure - anything seems irrelevant when it's given only a moment's thought.
But what if you decided to make a conscious decision to take the next mini, fleeting, thought that you have,
and aggressively "flesh it out"?
What if you spent the same energy you spend towards, say — drafting that stupidly inanely and unnecessarily formal email to your boss, and used it towards taking an insanely good Instagram of your lunch?
Or instead of wanting to murder everyone on the subway, you spent your half hour commute eavesdropping on peoples' conversations and transforming their snippets of dialogue into a full-fledged story?
Or as an alternative to worrying what everyone else was going to wear to an upcoming gala,
you picked that one strange dress you saw 2 weeks ago in a window and expended all of your efforts styling it obsessively to perfection?
Really. Is it not the most epic ideas that come from the tiniest of thoughts?
Thoughts with a lot of time behind them.
And then a lot of money.
And then a lot of outside praise.
And then a lot more money.
Are "big" ideas ever really that big
or just big-hearted?
Ambitious?
Supported?
Pursued?
How much of success if success is itself,
and how much of success is an unending willingness to justify, stand by, and refuse to back down on an idea?
Legitimate question.

Cheers.
